Frequently asked questions
What is GEO?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the practice of making your content easy for AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity to parse, understand, and cite. It's the equivalent of SEO for the AI-answer era.
Is the scan free?
The quick preview — checking whether AI can find and read your site, plus a live ChatGPT mention check — is completely free, no signup or card. The full AI-readiness score and the check of whether AI is recommending you (real questions to ChatGPT + Perplexity, root-cause diagnosis, a prioritized fix list) are in the paid plans.
Which AI engines do you check?
Today GEO Scanner checks ChatGPT and Perplexity. We're expanding coverage to more engines as they open up reliable ways to query them.
Do I need to give you access to my site?
No. GEO Scanner only reads the publicly available content of the URL you submit. No login, no credentials, no code to install. The scan is read-only and never modifies your site.
How is the AI-readiness score calculated?
It combines whether AI can find and read your site (crawler access, clear structure, valid structured data) with whether your content actually answers likely buyer questions clearly and early. Every category that falls short is listed in the report with a concrete, easy-to-follow suggestion.
See what we checkWhat languages does GEO Scanner support?
The app and reports are available in English, Japanese, and Vietnamese.
Can I scan a site I don't own?
You should only scan sites you own or have a legitimate reason to assess (for example, a client's site you manage). See our Acceptable Use Policy for details.
Read the Acceptable Use PolicyIs there a paid plan?
Yes. The free scan is a one-time snapshot; paid plans (Starter, Growth, Agency) include a set number of full scans per month, plus extra scans available as credit. Self-serve checkout is on the way — pick a plan via the contact form and we'll set you up manually in the meantime.
